Hamish currently works for Meridian Energy, an electricity generator, developing new wind farms and solar farms inNZ. With electricity demand increasing it is a busy time in the industry increasing renewable energy supply in the country.
Hamish completed his Masters in sustainable energy at Imperial CollegeLondon in 2015 and after working in the UK energy efficiency industry he returned to New Zealand in 2018. Following his move back to New Zealand, Hamish worked in consulting for renewable energy projects providing advice, analysis and modeling for wind farms and solar farms in the southern hemisphere.
Looking forward, Hamish hopes to hone his skills in the energy industry and increase education around the risks of climate change.In his spare time Hamish loves adventures and challenges in outdoors whether it be hiking, biking, climbing or skiing. He recently completed the God zone adventure race for a second time, a week long adventure race in the wilderness of NZ.
