Analogue leadership in a digital world

Sean McDiarmid
Rowland Scholar
2020 - 2021

Sean is an Anglo-Chinese student who studied International Affairs at Peking University’s SIS and completed his MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics’ Department of International History.

While in Beijing Sean interned for the British Chamber of Commerce in China. His primary interest lies in the intersection of security studies and East Asia, as they relate to Western (and in particular US) defence diplomacy. He hopes to better understand the region and its position as a central node in great power strategic calculations and thereby contribute in some small way to the construction of a peaceful, prosperous East-West relationship.

Sean is currently working as a Policy Advisor in the UK Civil Service.
